Card counting is a method of determining whether the player or the dealer has the upper hand in the upcoming hand. Card counters are advantage players who keep track of how many high and low valued cards are dealt in order to reduce the casino's edge. When they have an edge, they bet more, and when the dealer has an advantage, they bet less. They also alter their strategy dependent on the deck's composition.

The Deal

Players in traditional Chinese poker receive all thirteen cards at the same time. Open Face Chinese Poker has a significantly different approach to the game. The dealer hands 5 cards 'in the hole' to each player, then one by one until each player gets 13 cards. The players are dealt all of their cards face-up. The deal begins on the dealer's left and moves clockwise. Some sources indicate that forming rows is not required during the deal, while others claim that you must place a card in a row before receiving the next. All agree, however, that once a card is placed in a row, it cannot be moved. Six points plus possible royalties are awarded to legal hands. If more than one player commits a foul, they cancel each other out and do not lose or earn points at the expense of the other. Players take turns acting.

Fouling

A fouling or missetting hand is simply one that is thrown out of play. The back hand must rank equal to or higher than the middle hand, and the middle hand must rank equal to or higher than the front hand. The hand is fouled if these conditions are not met. Six points are deducted for fouled hands (one point per row plus a three-point scoop bonus). If their opponents have royalties, players who foul may lose extra points. Foul hands, on the other hand, forfeit any potential revenues.

Fantasyland

This is fantasyland; if a player has a QQX or higher front hand and does not foul, they are granted special points. If a player enters fantasyland, their next hand is dealt face-down all at once. Their cards aren't turned over until they take action. If their hand allows, players can return to fantasyland multiple times. If you create fantasyland while there, you must tell the table about it. At any given time, more than one player can enter Fantasyland.

Advantages

Back-counting is different from standard card counting in that the player does not play every hand that comes up. This has a number of advantages. For starters, the player will not play hands unless he or she has a statistical advantage. This boosts the player's overall advantage. Another benefit is that the player does not need to adjust their wager size as frequently (or at all). Casinos use large differences in stake size to discover card counters.

How Do You Outsmart A Dealer?

  • Forget about payments and instead focus on price. Dealers will try to persuade you to buy a car on the basis of a monthly payment rather than the purchase price.
  • Take Charge of Your Debt
  • Avoid Car Deals That Have Been Advertised
  • Don't feel compelled to do anything.
  • Keep Add-ons to a minimum.

Do Card Dealers Cheat?

In a nutshell, it's exceedingly unlikely. Cheating dealers, known as "Mechanics," can manipulate the cards to the point that they can "stack" the deck or modify it to produce or preserve a particular sequence of cards to be given.
